Crime statistics
Information is available showing recorded crime statistics for Tonbridge & Malling for
Crime figures released for April 2009 to March 2010 show that Tonbridge & Malling remains one of the safest areas in Kent. Overall recorded crime saw a reduction of 7.4% (from 6,203 crimes in 2008/9 to 5,745 in 2009/10). There were also reductions in criminal damage offences (from 1,320 in 2008/9 to 1,265 in 2009/10), thefts from vehicles (519 in 2008/9 to 445 in 2009/10) and violent crime (1,096 in 2008/9 to 1,030 in 2009/10). However, the CSP is not complacent and will work to make the borough an even safer place to live.
The table below gives details of the crime statistics for April 2010 to March 2011, broken down into quarterly periods. The table shows the percentage increase or decrease for that particular crime type. A plus sign (+) indicates that there has been an increase in that crime type, while a minus sign (-) indicates that there has been a reduction in that crime type.
